With a local heritage
dating back to 1919, and with international dealings since 1978, Eagle
Furniture Industries has established an unshakeable reputation for timeous
deliveries, product quality and all-round service, in supplying solid Pine
& Eucalyptus doors and accessories into the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom
industries. The company employs
over 200 people and operates a double shift. It runs its own in-house
training programmes which have played a key role in providing a skilled and
motivated workforce. The health and
welfare of our people are an important aspect of our business. In 1999
the company opened an in-house clinic in order to focus on this area of
increasing importance. Staffed by qualified medical personnel Eagle ensures
all aspects of health are monitored and improved. Quality, Reliability
and the Environment
have always been key to our philosophy, so it was not surprising that Eagle
was the first South African timber company to successfully comply with ISO
9002, ISO 14001 and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). The company remains
committed to maintaining our world-class quality performance standards by
constantly reviewing the way we do things and introducing new more efficient
manufacturing processes. Location
The Factory, comprising
6 000 m2 on 2.5 hectares of land is situated on the outskirts of
Pietermaritzburg, the capital of The layout, which
separates and insulates the finishing section from the possible dust-bearing
machining section, was designed by the management team, many of whom had 25 years
experience at the old premises. It is less than one hour by road from Markets
